The Cool Board Fiasco: Design Your Deck

When “kick push” first hit sidewalks, skate kids and hip-hop heads alike couldn’t resist the call of the rhyming roller, Lupe Fiasco. Now with the “The Cool” ready to drop, Lupe needs a rig ready to roam the streets of the Chi. Element Skateboards and the freshest street couture mag in the land, Vapors, challenge YOU to design the dopest skate deck imagineable. The winning design will get a limited edition printing by Element and the winner will receive enough boards for their entire entourage to skate in style.

Here's how it works.

Here is a link to a zip file containing all the graphic elements necessary to design your deck. Use these images, along with your own drawings and doodles to create a skateboard design inspired by Lupe Fiasco's "The Cool"

Inside the zip file you'll find the following:

1. A blank skateboard jpg for you to design on. You must use this as your template or your design WILL NOT COUNT.
2. THE COOL logo and font
3. The skull, the locket, and the skeleton hand. These images represent characters from the story of Lupe Fiasco's THE COOL.
4. Vapors Magazine and Element skateboards logos.

Once you've downloaded the zip file, begin building your design on the blank template provided. Use the images and the music from Lupe Fiasco's THE COOL to inspire your design. Also, show some love for our sponsors and be sure to incorporate their logos into your design. When you're finished and have created THE COOLEST design EVER, upload it to the photos section of the group page http://lupesboard.imeem.com/ and YOU'RE SET. Lupe will pick the winner and be skating in style before Valentines Day.
